DrugPak Program Updates

Updates to version 6 have been posted as recently as 5/13/08
Save Time Using DP Informer

One of the most dramatically improved DrugPak modules in version 6, the DP Informer module saves you time and postage and helps you present a more professional image to your clients.

With DP Informer:

·  Automatically fax & e-mail result letters, DP Billing invoices, random selection documents & nearly every other DrugPak report.
·  Use filters to limit reports by any parameter you choose!
·  Send reports to any contact associated with companies and/or home bases.
·  Notify DP Live users that new results are available.
·  Send bulk messages (email & fax) using DP Informer's Broadcast Manager.

DP Informer is a tireless worker, always ready to send your DrugPak reports.  You pre-configure how your client receives their reports, and then each day generate those reports based on the options you already selected.  DP Informer sends faxes and/or optionally secure emails.  Each contact can have special options for their reports.  Reports can be sent as e-mail attachments in a variety of popular file formats.  Transmissions can be set to go automatically, or can be held for your clients who do not have a secure fax.

DP Informer tracks when a report was last created so that it can automatically select records to include on the next report without re-reporting old records.  If you want to re-report an old record you can back-date the report (to include a range of previously reported records) or select a single record to re-report, or even create a one-time report with special range options to deliver via email or fax.

To learn more about how DP Informer can save you time, deliver results faster, and improve your business image, call John Wasson, DrugPak Sales Manager at (800) 321-7826.

We're Here to Help You!

We appreciate that you have chosen DrugPak to manage your substance abuse testing data.  This newsletter is an opportunity for us to pass on news, helpful hints, and suggestions.  If you ever have any questions or problems, don't hesitate to contact us.
DrugPak On-Line Knowledge Base now available in BETA

DrugPak Technicians and Documentarians have been working together to compile a knowledge base of common topics.  We expect that this resource will become a valuable tool for every DrugPak user.  Key-word searching and topic browsing make it possible for you to find answers to your questions on basic and advanced topics.  Topics include many "How do I ... ?" and "What is this?" articles as well as items from the DrugPak help documentation and release notes, all in one convenient place.

The initial release of this resouce, in a BETA testing environment, is being made available to everyone.  Once the initial testing has been completed, access to the DrugPak Knowledge Base will be limited to users with current DrugPak Support Agreements.

Advisory Committee to be Established Soon

We want to thank everyone who replied to our invitation to take part in the DrugPak Advisory Committee.  We had a very strong response from the community of DrugPak users and we appreciate everyone's interest in having a voice in DrugPak's future!  The initial invitation to take part in this committee has to be closed at this time so we can go through the applications and start making arrangements on our first steps.

We will be in contact with everyone who asked to be part of this group in the near future.  Start getting your ideas together!
DrugPak Withholds Windows Server 2008 Compatibility Assessment

As mentioned in the April newsletter, the DrugPak Support Desk has recently fielded a variety of issues related to Windows Server 2008 that caused problems for DrugPak users.

Our R&D team has obtained a copy of Windows Server 2008 and is working on producing a comprehensive compatibility assessment.

Currently, this issue is still in testing.  In the meantime, we recommend that you do not deploy Windows Server 2008 to host your DrugPak installation.
Installing DrugPak Updates

The programmers at DrugPak are hard at work making improvements to DrugPak.  Updates posted to our web site as soon as the latest build has gone through testing.  New updates appear on the web site every few weeks, and we encourage you to take advantage of the new versions as part of your DrugPak Support Agreement.  If your DrugPak Support Agreement is current you are entitled to install updates for all of your modules.

You can access the update web page directly through your software.  In DrugPak go to your Help menu and click on the "Program Updates" item to launch your web browser to the update page.  We also provide a link to the update page in this monthly newsletter (at the top left).

When applying an update to DrugPak you should always ensure that you have a current backup.  Check out the DrugPak Help document (the Contents item in the Help menu) for information about making backups.  In case the upgrade causes any problems (such as exacerbating an existing corruption or introducing an incompatibility with your custom software) restoring a backup is your best method to get up and running quickly.

DrugPak and all modules should be closed before installing new updates (even on the workstation that is installing the update).  If you use DP Informer, then make sure that the DP Transmission Center has also been closed.  If you use DP Live then make sure that you web service has been stopped (the Falcon Web Server or IIS).

We also encourage you to review the release notes of the update.  The release notes are available at the update web page.  It is often helpful to read this document from the bottom up because the latest improvements are detailed at the bottom.

If you have any questions about DrugPak updates or anything else about DrugPak please contact our support desk at (800) 321-7826 x220 or support@drugpak.com.
