Save
Time Using DP Informer
The DP Informer module saves you time and postage and
helps you present a more professional image to your clients.
With DP Informer: · Automatically fax
& e-mail result letters, DP Billing invoices, random selection
documents & nearly every other DrugPak report. · Use filters to limit
reports by any parameter you choose! · Send reports to any contact
associated with companies and/or home bases. · Notify DP Live users that new
results are available. · Send bulk messages (email & fax) using DP
Informer's Broadcast Manager. DP Informer is
a tireless worker, always ready to send your DrugPak reports. You pre-configure
how your client receives their reports, and then each day generate those reports
based on the options you already selected. DP Informer sends faxes and/or
optionally secure emails. Each contact can have special options for their
reports. Reports can be sent as e-mail attachments in a variety of popular file
formats. Transmissions can be set to go automatically, or can be held for your
clients who do not have a secure fax.
DP Informer tracks when a report was last created so that it can
automatically select records to include on the next report without re-reporting
old records. If you want to re-report an old record you can back-date the
report (to include a range of previously reported records) or select a single
record to re-report, or even create a one-time report with special range options
to deliver via email or fax.

Show Data Changes Tool
You
have probably been in the position of looking at something in DrugPak
and wondering "How did that get set that way?" "Who did
that?" DrugPak now has a tool for you to view the vast majority
of data changes, what user made the change, when it was made and what
it was changed from and to!
The
tool is found in the Tools menu, labeled "Show Data Changes", and every
time a DrugPak support agent points this out to a user the reaction is
between "Wow, this is great" and "This is MAGIC!" To
use the Show Data Changes, view the record that you are curious about
(e.g. pull up the participant or result or whatever) and go to the
Tools menu and select Show Data Changes (toward the bottom). A
pop-up window will display a record of each change including the field
that was changed and the user that changed it (including if it was a DP
Live visitor). This information only goes back in history to the
point when this new tool was added to DrugPak, so it will not track
changes that were made in 2006, or before whatever time you installed
version 6. Also note that not every table tracks changes and not
every action is tracked (for example, adding a result record is not
displayed here, but every change to a result will be).

Using Result Defaults
The
Result Default system in DrugPak is designed to make your data entry
easier. There are default values in the Global Settings, the
Company window, the Home Base window and in Random Selection
Defaults. When entering results into DrugPak these values are
automatically inserted, saving you a few clicks for every result.
The
different levels of default values are cascading, which means that the
top-level (global settings) are used unless there is a default for that
value in the next level (company window), which are used unless there
are values in the next level (home base). When considering random
selection tests, the default values in the random selection profile are
the final level.
Where all results in your DrugPak go
through the same laboratory, then that value should be set in the
global settings and left blank in all other levels. Where most
results are collected at the same collection site then that should be
your global default, and the other levels left blank. If a
company uses a different collection site than the global default, then
fill that in for that one company, leaving other companies blank.
If a home base uses a different collection site then fill that in at
the home base window.

DOT "Best Practices" Document
In 2007 a document was posted on the U.S. Department of Transportation web site that addresses several common questions that DrugPak users often pose to DrugPak technical support representatives. This "Best Practices" document
should be helpful to new and experienced staff working in mandated
substance abuse testing. While we, here at DrugPak, are not DOT
authorities and cannot provide clarification or explanation of DOT
rules, we feel that it is important to provide any assistance we can in
finding answers to your questions. Check out the DOT Document and Publications page for more useful information.
