Introduction -------------------------------------------------------- This text is stored in a file called UPDATE.TXT. It will be installed into the program directory, so you can read or print it at your convenience. These release notes are provided to help you learn about changes to the software that have occurred too late to include in the on-line manual and help systems. Enhancements -------------------------------------------------------- KEY ENTRY Find windows have been added for all key entry fields that have an associated table and field. You must use the F2 key or right click the field to activate the Find window. Zoom and position can now be saved for a document type when there is no key type selected. This is useful for reviewing documents that already have all required keys entered. Added masking to key types, so that data can be entered as codes (all capitals), phone numbers, social security numbers, zip codes and initial capital letters just as in DrugPak. Use the key types screen to set up making for specific key types. SCANNING Added the ability to set the image resolution to 75, 100, or 150 ppi. Previously, only 200, 300, and 400 ppi were available. The default resolution is still 200 ppi. Added a new option to allow the user to set the directory where scanned images will be placed. To set the directory, choose Preferences | Scan Directory from the menu. Added a new option to invert images when they are scanned. Tools | Scan Directory menu item has become Toold | Workstations Settings. SEARCH Added functionality to allow user to filter based on "Only current document type" in View Documents window. Added option to the search screen to optionally limit the search to documents that have not been linked to any DrugPak record. -------------------------------------------------------- 4. Post-CD Fixes and Enhancements -------------------------------------------------------- 05/04/2005 Moved documents and annotations to an Advantage native database file, so that files can hold more then 4 gigabytes of data. Incorporated "Discard after update" option for keys that update a linked record. This prevents fields from being overwritten by Document Manager if they has changed since Document Manager first updated them. 01/24/2006 Fixed problem in which keys were not being discarded, even if set to discard. Fixed problem in which documents could not be deleted when being viewed from the search window. 02/01/2006 Added "Re-link" functionality to the Search screen. This allows the documents searched for to be linked automatically, without user intervention. 02/15/2006 Feature to only link to tests collected in the last N days was not working. 03/28/2006 Re-linking caused an access violation when it encountered a document with no document type. 04/11/2006 Color and grayscale scanning were not possible. Some of the scanner settings were not being obeyed. 05/10/2006 Sometimes, images being scanned were not yet complete when Doc Manager was trying to read them into the database. Now, Doc Manager will attempt to wait until the image is complete before reading it. If the image is still not complete after a timeout period (set in global options), the image will be added to a list of files which Doc Manager will optionally attempt to read again when the scanning dialog is closed. If the images still cannot be read, Doc Manager will leave the files in the scan directory, so they can be acquired later using "Acquire Documents". 05/23/2006 The correct portion of the document was not always being shown when keys were being entered for an image. 06/15/2006 Added a global option, "Warn during key entry if no link was made". If this option is enabled, Doc Manager will let you know when a completed document could not be linked, and will give you a chance to correct key entries by not marking the document as being complete. Added the ability to look for a document by file name. On the "Search Results" tab of the Search Documents screen, you can now type the name of a scanned/acquired file. When you press Enter, Doc Manager will try to locate that filename. It will make partial matches. Case is ignored. 08/30/2006 Document Manager interfaces are now compatible with MS IE7. 09/06/2006 -- Fixed incompatibilities with Win98 caused by fixing incompatibilities with IE7 09/15/2006 The "examine results collected in the last N days" global setting did not take effect until the image viewing window was closed and reopened. It now takes effect immediately. 11/02/2006 Corrected some problems with TIF image compression. 11/07/2006 Removed the "save" button from the image toolbar, and added a new save button to the right of the file icon (above the image toolbar). The new save button saves the exact contents of the document. For TIF images, there is also a new "Info" button that allows the user to see some statistics about the image, such as its size, color depth, and compression method. 11/20/2006 Due to scanner initialization issues, the scanner TWAIN object is now re-initialized every time the "Perform Scan" screen is opened. 12/21/2006 Discard keys are now kept on file. "Discard" now means that the key will not overwrite existing data in the linked table. A utility was added to the tools menu to recover keys that were discarded. Added profiling to the keying and linking processes. 02/07/2007 The "Purge Documents" utility now includes the ability to purge "only unlinked documents" or "only linked documents". Also, the utility now gives the option of packing image files after the purge.
